Buck Layton
Biography:
Buck Layton, living in the Pacific Northwest, is a passionate landscape photographer creating giclée panoramic prints... images which will stir the emotions and have the power to touch people in their hearts.
His work has been exhibited at the Caswell Gallery in Troutdale, Oregon and can be seen in the Online Gallery as well. His work has been collected by both corporate and professional businesses and is hung in private homes. He loves shooting 6x17cm film, then selecting images worthy to be drum scanned. There is really nothing to compare with the impact of viewing a 24x72 inch canvas print!
His journey began in the Midwest and he attended Purdue University in Electrical Engineering then switched careers, 17 to 20 years later. He decided to follow his heart... with his avocational interests now becoming his vocational interest. Buck also received training in classical music and studied trumpet for 14 years. These experiences prepared him well for the eventual merger of the digital age with the traditional photographic processes to which he had committed over 30 years in improving his craft. Along the way he has worked both as a graphic designer and as an operator in digital pre-press and has had memberships in many photographic associations.
