Peter Leeming is a full time professional landscape photographer and writer based in North Yorkshire, England.
He works predominantly with a large format panoramic film camera and tends to specilialise in making panoramic images of mountain landscapes, especially in the Scottish Highlands and Hebrides. Whilst not photographing mountain ranges, Peter is usually photographing the Yorkshire Coast and he is currently working on a book project about Yorkshire's Dinosaur Coast.
His photographic style tends toward the moody and evocative rather than the purely representative. Peter is represented by several galleries and has exhibited his work widely, with a growing number of private collectors and corporate clients buying my Limited Edition Fine Art prints.
He has travelled extensively, mainly to mountain ranges. As a keen mountaineer, Peter made first ascents of new climbs in the Peruvian Andes and the Karakoram in Pakistan, as well as numerous climbing related trips and ski traverses in the European Alps.
His professional background before becoming a full time photographer is in Biology education, and he has applied his teaching skills to the photographic workshops and masterclasses that he runs.
Peter has had images and essays published in a wide range of mountaineering and photography related journals and magazines, and has lectured quite widely about photography and mountaineering.
